What Makes a Good UpdateVilla Article?
We look for content that is:
Useful
Give readers information they can actually use when planning a trip.
Original
Submit your own work and bring a fresh perspective or useful angle.
Accurate
Check important facts, names, locations, travel information, prices, opening details, and other information that may change over time.
Easy to Read
Use clear headings, short paragraphs, lists, and simple language where appropriate.
Relevant
The article should fit naturally with UpdateVilla’s focus on travel, villas, destinations, experiences, and trip planning.
Helpful Rather Than Promotional
Articles should educate or inspire readers. They should not read like advertisements for a company, property, product, or service.
Submission Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines before submitting your article or idea.
Original Content
Submissions should be original and should not be copied from another website. Please do not submit articles that have already been published elsewhere unless you have clearly explained the circumstances and have permission to republish them.
Useful Length
There is no fixed word count for every article. As a general guideline, most detailed articles should provide enough information to properly cover the topic. Around 1,000 to 2,000 words is suitable for many destination guides and travel articles, but quality and usefulness are more important than reaching a specific word count.
Clear Structure
Please use:
- A clear article title
- A useful introduction
- H2 and H3 headings where appropriate
- Short paragraphs
- Bullet points or numbered lists when helpful
- A clear conclusion when appropriate
Fact-Check Your Information
Travel information can change.
Please check important details before submission, especially:
- Prices
- Opening hours
- Transport information
- Entry requirements
- Distances
- Addresses
- Seasonal information
- Booking information
- Local rules
When appropriate, include reliable sources for important factual information.
Images
Relevant, high-quality images are welcome. You must have the right to submit any images you provide. Do not send copyrighted photographs, watermarked images, or images taken from other websites without permission. Please provide image credits or source information when required.
External Links
External links should be relevant and genuinely useful to readers. We do not guarantee publication of links included in submitted content. UpdateVilla may remove, edit, replace, or decline links that are irrelevant, promotional, misleading, excessive, or unsuitable for the article.
Promotional Content
We do not accept articles that exist mainly to advertise a business, product, service, hotel, villa, destination company, or website. If you are interested in advertising, sponsored content, villa promotion, or a commercial partnership, please visit our Advertising & Partnerships page.
Topics We Do Not Accept
To protect the quality and focus of UpdateVilla, we generally do not accept:
- Plagiarized content
- Automatically generated or low-value content
- Rewritten articles with little original value
- Keyword-stuffed articles
- Spam submissions
- Unrelated topics
- Press releases presented as editorial articles

AI-Assisted Content
UpdateVilla values original ideas, genuine knowledge, and useful travel information. If you use writing or AI tools during the preparation of a submission, the final article should still reflect your own research, judgment, experience, and editorial responsibility.
AI tools should not be used to create fabricated experiences, reviews, quotes, facts, statistics, or first-hand claims. We may decline content that appears inaccurate, generic, misleading, or lacking genuine editorial value.
